3) Race Day Schedule
Cars will race within rank in below listed race day schedule. The top three (3) cars per rank will advance and race in the Finals for the fastest Pack 685 Pinewood Derby car!

4) Awards
Participating Derby cars will enter two competitions: Show and Speed.
Rank trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cars. There are no Pack Final awards.

Most Humorous
Best Scout Theme
Best Military Theme
Most Innovative
Safety Award (slowest car that will be determined following all the races)
5) District Cub Scout Pinewood Derby
District Pinewood Derby is currently ON HOLD. Winning cars in the Speed and Show categories will be eligible to advance to the District Derby.

2) Car Registration
Friday, 2/3/2023 (4:00 – 8:00pm) OR Saturday, 2/4/2023 (7:30-8:00am)
- Bring your completed PWD car to designated car registration date/time.
- The completed PWD car will be inspected to ensure it meets rules (proper materials, size and weight). If the race car requires any adjustments/repairs, it must be done before registration. There will be a “Repair Shop” and helper during Friday registration.
- Available at the “Repair Shop” is authorized axle lubricant. Lubricant, if used, must be applied prior to inspection and registration of the car. No lubrication is permitted after registration or during the derby race.
- Once the car is officially registered and submitted for the PWD race, the car cannot be altered, adjusted, changed, modified or add lubricant. Only “authorized repairs” (fatal car malfunction) may be allowed. Please see the “Disqualification” list on Rules for Building Your PWD Car.
- Make sure to come up with a PWD race car name!
- All participating scouts will receive a PWD 2023 patch.
3) Race Day Schedule
